What's new for 2020-2021? revised eligibility criteria
In order to apply to academic centers or gifted/classical programs this year for the 2021-2022 school year, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:
For students applying to academic centers and gifted/classical programs for 5th-8th grades for the 2021-2022 school year, CPS will consider the students' highest NWEA scores from the following administrations:
Academic centers will also continue to consider grades as a part of the selection process. For the 2021-2022 Academic Center Selection Process, CPS will use either the highest scores of a student's final grades from spring 2020 or the average of their first and second quarter grades.
Currently, testing for these selective enrollment programs is planned in-person for the winter of the 2020-2021 with additional safety and health protocols in place. Schedule your selective enrollment testing site and date in the GoCPS Application.
- 45th percentile in reading and math for general education students
- 40th percentile in either math or reading and 50th percentile in the other subject (math or reading) for students with an IEP
