Hello! My name is Mrs. Haller and I am the School Counselor at Shoesmith Elementary. This is my fourth year at Shoesmith and my seventh year as an employee of Chicago Public Schools. I am so proud to be a member of such a wonderful school community - let's go Honeybees!
In 2011, I graduated with a B.A. in Literature from DePauw University and in 2013, I obtained a M.Ed. from Loyola University Chicago. At home, I love to cook, read, bike around the city, explore new neighborhoods, and spend time with my husband, daughter, and our rescue mutt Murphy. As a school counselor, it is my mission to support the social emotional learning of our students by implementing a comprehensive, equitable, and data-driven school counseling program aligned with district, state, and national standards. I am trained in implementing and supporting research-based social-emotional programs including S.S.Grin, Check-In/Check-Out, Second Step, CHAMPS, Calm Classroom, and Act and Adapt. In 2019, I completed the Chicago Equity and Access Advising Credential with CPS and the University of Chicago so I can continue to stay on the forefront of advising our students and families about high school and postsecondary options. This fall, I will complete training for the Rainbows and Silver Linings Program to better support students who are experiencing grief, loss, or trauma. |
